Papaya is not one of the most exciting fruits – taste wise. It can be a bit bland and tastes best when you squeeze some lime juice on it. What it lacks in flavour it makes up in nutrients. Papaya is loaded with vitamin C, antioxidants, digestive enzymes, and folate amongst others and is known for being a good tummy fruit.


This smoothie combines a few strong flavours which come together surprisingly well. There’s orange and lime juice, turmeric and ginger as well as coconut milk so it packs a flavourful and nutritious punch!


If you want it to be extra creamy, freeze the papaya before-hand. If you’re not a pre-planner it tastes great over ice or after being chilled in the freezer for a few minutes.


Papaya Coconut and Citrus Smoothie

This smoothie is vegan, gluten free with no added sugars. A refreshing and flavorful Papaya, Coconut and Citrus Smoothie. Bursting with nutrients call it the happy tummy smoothie.

Servings: 2 large smoothies


  • 1 medium papaya (paw-paw) peeled, seeds removed and chopped (2 cups chopped)
  • 1 lime juiced
  • 1 orange juice juiced
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1/4 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric

You will also need

  • high speed blender


  • Pop all the ingredients into a high speed blender and blend until completely smooth
  • Serve over ice, or chill in the freezer for 5 minutes before drinking.
