I imagined reaching a point where one gains immunity to certain conditions, like acne or chicken pox. You’ve done your time and escaped scot-free. It’s pure arrogance, of course – aged or not, bombshells and monsters are often lurking around dark corners to scare the hell out of you.

Book Club Notes

Nutreats_Tag_Medium_LimeGreen

I picked up this book expecting a light, fluffy, romcom but was surprised by so much more. This book is a light read but there was nothing fluffy or silly about it. It is filled with so much depth and substance and reads as a real autobiography. The storyline is excellent, it is a thrilling page turner and the characters are all so well crafted, especially Ruby. You go through the book getting a real sense of who this woman would have been and what her life would have been like.

It’s fun but serious, light but meaningful and all in all a really great read.
