You know when you’ve wanted to try something for years but never do? Ren is that something for me. I’ve been so curious about this brand for a long time. My interest started by observing the seemingly cult status their Ready steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic has.

The problem is I don’t easily trust cosmetics or cult products because often they are not worth the hype, and I hate feeling like I’ve thrown money down the drain. Given how sensitive my skin has become, I let the interest percolate in the background without biting.

For the last 3 years, my routine has been bare basics: remove makeup, wash with an exfoliating cleanser, put some skinoren on blemish prone areas and call it a day. Sometimes I go “wild” and put on a light moisturizer in the morning. It’s been working for me but as I get older, I’ve been itching to add more steps.

When KBT had a REN 25% off code recently, my percolating interest boiled over and I decided to just seize the day and give something a go. Seeing as it was the toner that started my interest, I wanted to give that a try but also wanted to test out as many products as possible (within reason and budget). I settled on their Glow One Step Further kit.

This 3-piece kit is a 3-step PM routine for dull and dehydrated skin. It is formulated to brighten, hydrate, and gently exfoliate dead skin cells. It claims that you’ll wake-up with a glowing, smoother, more energised and even-looking complexion.

I’ve been using it for a month now. If you clicked here for a review, your attention span is about to be rewarded.

Ren Glow One Step Further kit {Review}

First up the sizes are small but it makes them great for travel. My philosophy on testing products is that I’d rather spend more per ml on a mini that will only last me for a month (enough to know if it’s worth the money), than pay more on a full size I may hate and end up tossing.

Ready Steady Glow Daily AHA Tonic, 50ml

You can use this gentle tonic twice a day. I used it once at night, after washing, before applying the sleeping cream. I love the smell of this – it reminds me of a paloma (my favourite cocktail). The tonic feels fresh, doesn’t sting and doesn’t leave your skin feeling sticky.

Overnight Glow Dark Spot Sleeping Cream, 15ml

As is the theme of this range, this cream has a very pleasing citrus smell. It actually smells more apricot than orange to me, but I adore it. The consistency is between light and thick, it doesn’t feel heavy, smooths onto the skin really nicely and absorbs quickly.

Glycol Lactic Radiance Renewal Mask, 15ml

This super pleasant mask is for weekly use. The mask is textured like honey and has the same apricot citrucy scent. The cream glides onto the skin smoothly and easily. It also doesn’t dry or harden during the 10-minute wait time. I felt a slight tingle the first time I used it, but it wasn’t a painful tingle and when I removed it my skin felt smooth, comfortable, and not-irritable.

Presumably, you now want to know if it works. Is it worth the money?

It impressed from day one. My morning skin has consistently looked refreshed and felt incredible soft and smooth. I had no bad reactions, the entire month. No so called purging, peeling skin or irritation in any form. For my skin, this is a breakthrough. The products didn’t wipe out my acne pigment marks, but they are slightly faded. I think that with more time they should fade more.

My skin hasn’t loved products this much since my pHformula trial and overall feels great. I just need to hit purchase on the full sized versions before my minis run out.
